Ann Gilbert, bass principal
Ann Gilbert is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, Bachelor of Music, the Juilliard School of Music, Master of Music, and the University of Akron, PhD. She has played in the Symphonic Orchestra of the State of Mexico as Principal Bass, the Oregon Symphony as Assistant Principal Bass, and the Symphonic Orchestra of Seville, Spain. Currently she performs with the Akron Symphony and the Cleveland Pops Orchestras as Principal Bass, and in the Opera Cleveland Orchestra along with the Akron Baroque Orchestra. She teaches orchestra in the Elyria City Schools and is an accompanist for the Promise Choir at Bay Presbyterian Church. She enjoys swimming, walking and learning new skills.
